Butler still perfect
Tornado
soccer team shuts out Hampton, 3-0
Doug
Moran had a goal and assist and Hampton failed to register a
shot on goal in the first half Saturday as the Butler boys
soccer team blanked the Talbots, 3-0.
The Golden Tornado (10-0) stayed undefeated with the victory.
Moran scored Butler's first goal — and his
13th of the season — 19 minutes, 46 seconds into the first half. He assisted on
the Tornado's second goal by sending a pass across the goal-mouth to Ryan
Armahizer, who headed the ball inside the right goalpost.
Andy Schnur concluded the scoring 17:10 into the second half,
finding the net on a free kick from nearly 20 yards out.
Tim Duffy and Zeke O'Donnell split the shutout in goal, O'Donnell preserving it
by making a lunging save on Hampton's Greg Connor from
point-blank range with 10 minutes remaining.
The Tornado had a 13-4 edge in shots on goal. Hampton slipped to 9-2 on the
season.
