Butler indoor track sets record in debut

After losing its first two meets to weather
cancellations, the Butler High School indoor track and field teams opened their
season Saturday with a TSTCA meet at Edinboro
University.
The Golden Tornado boys distance relay team
set the school record time of 10 minutes, 57 seconds. Running that relay were
Noah Beveridge, Brett Brady, Doug Kostelansky
and Tim Porter.
Other Butler boys medaling in this 70-team
event were Ryan Marcella in the 60 meters, 200 meters, 4x400 and 4x200 relays,
Logan Paule in the triple jump, Isaiah Seybert in the triple jump and 4x200, Aden Dressler in the
3,000 meters, Jack Codispot in the pole vault, Jake Wolfrum and Cade Gratzmiller in
the 4x400 and 4x200, Vance Jackson in the 4x400.
Butler’s girls won a pair of relay events.
Erin LeMay, Maggie Welty,
Mariah Geibel and Liz Simms won the 4x800 in 10:10.48
while Maddie Tonini,
Gabrielle Boden, Chesna Tomko and Simms won the 4x400 in 4:11.97.
Jena Reimer took second in the shot put with
a toss of 40 feet, bettering the state championship standard. Simms placed
second in the 800 meters.
